Can I be strong today

when a friend of mine

is waving its farewell,

smiling and warm, why?

Can I keep the hot

and angry tears from

falling down, rolling

onto my cheeks, why?

They always promise

to stay forever, always.

To love one another

and face winter together.

They leave though…

Like trains tugging up the mountain

puffing in the distance, drifting away.

My gaze to follow; my soul astray.

I have to say, crying, farewell!

My friend!

Don’t forget to come back.

See you again!
